So I wrote Emily today about all that's been going on with Wendy and I, esp over the past year. Honestly, it makes me sad. The kind of sad that wants people to be loving when they're not. The kind of sad that's based on really, honestly caring for people who are destructive toward you. The kind of sad that looks at a bad situation and hopes for so much more.
Oh, Wendy. Please turn. Please love. Please. For your own sake...

Loose joints
So I learned this past week that there are certain joints in the pelvis which usually seem like solid bone. During the last stages of pregnancy, however, these joint loosen to prepare for birth. So THAT'S what's been going on with me! I can definitely feel things loosen; I'm more fragile now, esp in the last week or two, and I have to be really, really careful how I sit, stand, and even sleep. Yesterday I was in pain a lot due to tweaking one of these joints the night before. I rolled over too quickly, strained it. Ouch. Sometimes I can even feel things creaking & moving around, esp when I lie down or when I stand a lot.
I don't remember my bones being like this with Z, but I'd expect that. I can still remember my body stretching & opening during his birth, and how my bones felt bruised and shifted during the following week. I think the added looseness to my joints now is a combination of the new bone positions, and this being a second child. My body knows what to do, is familiar with birth, and is simply getting ready as it knows how to do.

SO hot
Trying to deal with the heat today... it's probably going to peak at around 100 today, maybe higher. I'm sorry for Andrew, being in Chico it's probably about 10 degrees hotter down there. No walks for him today, I'm guessing. :) As for me, I've retreated to the living room where our AC unit is. The unit works really well (MUCH better than the puny wall unit we had in Anaheim), but the configuration of our house is such that only the living room gets cool. Ah, well, thankfully we have a spare twin mattress so I can nap in the "cool room" as I call it. (Our bedroom is on the "hot side" of the house & esp in the afternoon gets BLAZING!) And I've planned my work for the day such that I can do it all from the comfort of the cool room. :)
Drinking water, taking it easy. Staying cool.
